Tour Guide:

Hermitage Farm is seeking charming and outgoing Tour Guides to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and vocal projection, an enthusiastic and engaging delivery style, and comfort around animals.

As a Tour Guide at Hermitage Farm, you will lead guests on a variety of 40-minute tours, including:

– Historic house and outbuildings tour

– Thoroughbred breeding operation tour

– Retired Horse interaction

– Gardens and greenhouse tour

In addition, Tour Guides will learn to lead bourbon tastings and scripted cocktail mixology classes.

We provide comprehensive training with Hermitage’s experts across all fields. You will gain knowledge in bartending, horticulture, history, and the equine industry, and you will complete training to become a Certified Bourbon Steward.


– Lead guests safely through approved tour routes

– Memorize and deliver tour and class scripts

– Engage with guests and answer their questions

– Conduct independent study and research to enhance tour content

– Teach mixology classes and assist guests in crafting their own cocktails

– Set up and clean up after classes

– Occasionally drive patrons in a golf cart

– Assist with retail purchases and restocking retail merchandise in the Hermitage Farm Store

Job Requirements

– Must be at least 21 years of age

– High school diploma or equivalent

– Comfortable with public speaking and engaging with diverse groups

– Willingness to work outdoors and around animals

– Ability to memorize and deliver scripted information

– Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude

– Flexibility to work Wednesday through Sunday, 11 am – 7 pm (schedule subject to tour bookings between 9 am and 8 pm throughout the week)

– Customer Service or Hospitality background, food service/bartending experience, and horse industry experience are a plus, but not required

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $17.00 – $18.00 per hour

● Presents and conducts themselves professionally, particularly during service.
● Open, operate, clean, and close the kitchen thoroughly and properly.
