Mark and Sherri Carter of Old Carter Whiskey Co. come from a background in wine production (via Carter Cellars)\, but a few years back they discovered a passion for whiskey distillation and the state of Kentucky. Old Carter Whiskey Co. became their labor of love\, and it now produces Straight Ryes\, Bourbons\, and American Whiskeys throughout the state of Kentucky. Not only do they create the blends themselves\, but Mark and Sherri also select single barrels for their program\, design their labels\, and operate their distillery with a very hands-on approach. DESCRIPTION:Our next guest speaker for The Whiskey Files is another member of the Bourbon Hall of Fame. Peggy Noe Stevens has worked in hospitality and the bourbon industry for over 30 years\, during which time she became the world’s first female Master Bourbon Taster. Just over 10 years ago she created the Bourbon Women Association\, and she worked as an originator for the development of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. In addition to serving as a spirit’s judge for the American Distilling Institute\, Stevens has authored multiple books on personal branding and beverage pairing\, the latest of which\, titled Which Fork Do I Use with My Bourbon?\, she’ll be signing at the event. So join us April 13 to sip some bourbon and hear Stevens share about her experience in making a difference for women in the bourbon industry.

Nally now serves as Master Distiller at The Bardstown Bourbon Company\, in which time its capacity has quadrupled\, and he remains the face of their brand as it continues to expand across the nation. Mr. Taylor revived this deep-rooted distillery after it lay shuttered for nearly a century and is dedicated to producing nothing but the finest rye and bourbon. His passion for the distilling craft is matched only by a passion for his family\, which under his leadership is sure to continue guiding Peerless to success.
